Our Story
Welcome to our studio.
Studio Whitford was founded in 2021 in a historic home on the Main Line in Philadelphia PA, with the purpose of approaching design with a fresh perspective and a personable manner. Our founder’s early years playing with scrap wood from her father’s construction projects and materials from her mother’s craft business sparked her passion for design at an early age.
Founder, Courtney Klinger brings a decade of experience in the residential and commercial interior architecture industry. With a value to approach design differently and better serve clients, Courtney was empowered to start her own design firm.

Purposefully located in a suite within a high-performance auto shop, Courtney draws inspiration from the shop's creative energy which matches her approach to design.
Meet the Team
Courtney Klinger
Founder, Principal Designer

Courtney is a Philadelphia-based designer, who specializes in hospitality, retail, and residential projects. Throughout her career, she has completed numerous projects including boutique hotels, multi-family buildings, luxury retail, and star-studded residences. She has an acute eye for design, antiques, and a knack for custom furniture. Courtney works closely with architects, engineers, and branding consultants to create well-rounded high functioning spaces that feel effortless.
Growing up she was highly influenced by her father’s work in construction, and her mother’s love of antiques. She graduated with honors from Drexel University with a bachelor of science in interior architecture.
When she is not in the office you can find her rummaging through antique shops, finding inspiration through travel, and fueling her love for cars and motorcycles at the race track.

Michael Patterson
Architectural Designer

As a multidisciplinary designer, Michael uses his diverse skill set to deliver holistic solutions at the intersection of architecture and interiors. With 10+ years in residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality design, Michael brings a sharp eye for detail and deft tectonic comprehension to the dialogue. Ever in motion, Michael enjoys traveling to places old and new, seeking out great food, fresh inspiration, and engaging conversations.

Kacie Montano
Interior Designer

Kacie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from Moore College of Art and Design. Throughout her early career, she gained extensive experience in lighting design, space planning, and creating custom furnishings. She values the importance of customization and never misses a beat of the latest trends and products. Kacie spends her free time designing and renovating her new home in Deleware with her fiancé and planning her upcoming wedding.
